A new look in a classic design
The design of the H4n Pro is the gold standard in portable recording. Now available in Classic and All Black.

The recording studio that fits in the palm of your hand
With built-in X/Y microphones, two combo input jacks, overdubbing,
built-in effects and much more, the H4n Pro offers many features that allow musicians to create their songs from start to finish.

Unbeatable in concert situations
The H4n Pro is capable of recording the loudest and heaviest performances, with up to 140 dB SPL without distortion. Or record a stereo track from the mixing console and capture the ambience of the room with the X/Y microphones.

Powerful mic preamps
The H4n Pro features powerful, low-noise mic preamps with recording resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz. The improved noise floor (-120 dBu ON) captures audio with lower volume, less noise, and less interference.

USB Audio Interface
As a 2-input, 2-output USB audio interface for PC or Mac, the H4n Pro allows you to record directly to your computer.

Convenient Recording Features
Pre-Record
The pre-record feature ensures that you never miss the start of a great recording. The unit is permanently in recording standby and retains the previous two seconds* of audio each time you press RECORD.
*One second when recording at 96 kHz in 4CH mode

Auto-Record
The Auto-Record function provides automatic recording start when a user-specified limit level is exceeded. Complementary, there is also an Auto-Record stop function that stops a recording when the incoming signal drops below the user-specified stop level.

Three recording modes
Stereo Mode
STEREO MODE uses the built-in X/Y microphone (or external microphones), making it suitable for recording live performances, acoustic instruments, dialog, and more.

4-Channel Mode
In 4CH MODE, you can use the built-in X/Y microphone and the two external inputs simultaneously - ideal for combining live stereo sum from the mixing console and the sound of the audience in the room.

MTR Mode
MTR MODE (Multitrack Mode) turns the unit into a four-track studio with built-in effects, overdub function, and the ability to work with previously created recordings.

Inputs and Outputs
Inputs
The H4n Pro features two lockable XLR/TRS combo jacks, each with switchable phantom power. In addition, there is a mic/line input via the stereo 1/8" input jack.

Outputs
Connect external equipment via the stereo 1/8" line output with its own volume control, or use headphones for monitoring.

Editing and recording software included
The H4n Pro comes with licenses for a free download of Steinberg Cubase LE music production software and WaveLab LE editor software, which together form a full-featured audio production toolkit. Create your own music using the Pro's USB audio interface feature, or expand your possibilities using Steinberg's renowned audio software.

Recording time and file formats
The H4n Pro can record audio in both MP3 and WAV formats. WAV files recorded with the H4n Pro conform to BWF (Broadcast Wave Format) and contain markers and creation data. This allows easy synchronization and file organization for musicians and filmmakers.

Record continuously for over 6 hours with just 2 AA batteries, or extend your recording time indefinitely with the optional AD-17 AC adapter.
