Samyang XP 35mm F1.2 is a high performance manual Lens optimized and designed for the latest DSLR cameras
The Lens is designed for cameras with 35mm full frame sensor for crystal clear photo and video shooting. It is perfect for the latest DSLR and DSLM cameras with a high pixel count. The outstanding optical resolution of the lens allows photos of over 50 megapixels and enables filming in 8K.

Wide angle with great depth of field
The lens has a short focal length. With a close focusing distance of just 34 cm, the manually focusable wide-angle lens is particularly suitable for sharp and high-contrast images from a short distance. Thanks to the extremely good speed of F1.2, optimum images are possible even in unfavorable lighting conditions.

High pixel count for excellent optical functionality
The outstanding imaging performance is thanks to the sophisticated optical system. This consists of 10 groups with 12 lenses and thus sets new standards. Particularly noteworthy are its two aspherical lenses, three HR lenses and one ED lens. Aspherical lenses (ASP) minimize aberrations by reducing unwanted light scattering. HR (high refractive) lenses optimize the beam path and thus ensure a clear and bright image. ED (extra-low distortion) lenses prevent chromatic aberrations. These coordinated special lenses minimize the various possible aberrations and produce a clear image. In particular, this Lens has excellent distortion correction and offers excellent resolution from the center to the edge. The lens hood also prevents disturbing lateral light incidence and lens reflections, which would lead to a loss of contrast.

Built-in chip
A chip built into the Lens, which communicates with the camera via the interface on the mount, enables working with automatic exposure or program mode. EXIF data such as aperture and focus setting are also transferred. This enables the camera to signal in the viewfinder or on the display whether the subject is in focus. The aperture is also set by the camera via this interface.

Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
The Samyang XP 35mm F1.2 is designed for full-frame format. You can of course also use it on cameras with smaller sensors, for example APS-C. Since a correspondingly smaller section of the full-frame image circle of the Lens hits the sensor, the angle of view is also smaller (64.5° for full-frame, 44.4° for APS-C on Canon EF). The image content of the APS-C image is therefore a central section of the image that a full-frame camera would capture. Aberrations usually occur at the edges, especially with wide-angle Lens, so the quality for APS-C cameras is always maximum.
