  • Fujifilm GFX50S II
  • compact system camera
  • large-format 51.4 megapixel sensor
  • integrated image stabilization
  • diverse film simulations
  • "Pixel Shift Multi-Shot" for 200-megapixel images
  • fast and precise autofocus
  • compact, lightweight and weatherproof
  • familiar operating concept

The pixels of the GFX50S II's large-format image sensor are 1.7 times larger than those of a 35mm sensor*2 and are characterized by a high dynamic range and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. In combination with the powerful X-Processor 4, brilliant image quality is achieved. The images impress with their rich tonal reproduction, low image noise and well-defined shadows and highlights. In combination with a lens from the GF

series, a consistently high resolution and an almost three-dimensional image effect are achieved across the entire image area.
The GFX50S II weighs only 900 grams and is particularly suitable for use without a tripod. The camera, which is no larger than a model with a 35 mm sensor, has an advanced five-axis image stabilization system (IBIS) that effectively prevents camera shake and allows sharp images with up to 6.5 EV stops*3 slower shutter speeds. The IBIS system is particularly advantageous when shooting handheld in low light conditions, such as indoors and after dark, and when shooting with long telephoto focal lengths.

51.4 megapixel sensor for brilliant image quality
The FUJIFILM GFX50S II has a 51.4 megapixel image sensor which, in combination with a GF series Lens, offers stunning resolution. The camera has a special sensor design that uses microlenses that have been modified in shape and size to allow a greater distance between adjacent pixels and thus increased light capture per pixel. This results in an overall higher image sharpness.

More light per pixel leads to improvements in ISO sensitivity, dynamic range and tonal reproduction. Drawing in highlights and shadows is retained and textures are reproduced with an almost three-dimensional appearance. The specific mood of a scene can thus be captured faithfully in the image.

The large-format sensor also enables a very shallow depth of field with attractive background blur. Attention is drawn specifically to the desired image area.

Wide range of film simulations
The GFX50S II offers 19 film simulations, including the new "Nostalgic Negative" image style, which was first available on the GFX100S released in spring 2021. Images captured with this style are characterized by high saturation and soft tonal reproduction. As with the other film simulations, the effects can be assessed in the electronic viewfinder or on the rear display before shooting in order to adjust them individually if necessary.

Integrated five-axis image stabilization
The GFX50S II has a five-axis image stabilization system (IBIS) that offers an advantage of 6.5 EV stops*3 when shooting. This is the highest compensation of any GFX camera to date. A powerful duo of gyrometer and accelerometer reacts to even the smallest movements to achieve precise stabilization of the image.

FUJIFILM is revolutionizing photography with large format cameras. While conventional medium format cameras are usually used on a tripod and require deliberate, careful work, the GFX50S II with its integrated image stabilizer offers outstanding image quality even when shooting freehand.

Fast and precise autofocus
The combination of a high-resolution image sensor, powerful X-Processor 4 image processor and integrated image stabilization (IBIS), together with a new AF algorithm, enables exceptionally fast and precise autofocus. Even during AF contrast measurement, the image stabilizer compensates for unwanted sensor movements, enabling reliable focusing in all shooting situations. This means that the perfect moment can be captured sharply in the image at all times.

The X-Processor 4 also ensures a very high AF update rate, enabling even more accurate face and eye detection compared to the previous model*4. With a large-format sensor and the associated shallow depth of field, this fast automatic focusing is particularly advantageous, as it enables expressive portraits to be taken even in dynamic situations, for example.

Compact, lightweight and weatherproof
The FUJIFILM GFX50S II weighs just 900 grams and, with its dimensions of 15 cm x 10.4 cm x 8.7 cm (WxHxD), is surprisingly compact for a camera with a large-format image sensor and integrated image stabilization. The further developed handgrip ensures optimally balanced handling and fatigue-free operation of the camera, even when using longer telephoto focal lengths.

The robust magnesium housing is additionally reinforced around the bayonet mount to guarantee the best possible stability when using larger and heavier Lens. It is protected against splash water and dust and can be used at low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. Its handiness and robustness allow the new GFX50S II to be used in areas where conventional medium format cameras could hardly or not at all be used until now.

Familiar operating concept
The controls arranged on the top of the GFX50S II will be familiar to many users. The mode dial offers six user-defined settings (C1-C6) for immediate access to frequently used functions. Directly next to it, a switch offers the option of quickly switching between photo and video recording.
The focus lever is now slightly flatter, which offers more comfort when working for longer periods. It also reacts more sensitively, making it even more intuitive to select the focus points.

The camera has a 4.5 cm (1.8 inch) secondary LCD monitor on the top, which can be used to display important shooting settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO value and exposure compensation) and other relevant parameters such as the remaining capacity of the memory card.

The 8.1 cm (3.2 inch) LCD on the back of the camera offers 100% image field coverage. It can be rotated in three directions for shooting from positions close to the ground or overhead and for precise framing even without an electronic viewfinder.

"Pixel Shift Multi-Shot" for 200 megapixel images
The "Pixel Shift Multi-Shot" function of the GFX50S II allows ultra-high-resolution images with 200 megapixels to be created. The images are characterized by a high level of detail and a natural color impression without false colors. This makes the GFX50S II the ideal camera for documentation work in museums and archives as well as other photographic applications where maximum color and detail fidelity is required.

The "Pixel Shift Multi-Shot" function uses the camera's IBIS system to take 16 high-resolution images in raw data format one after the other, whereby the image sensor is shifted by 0.5 pixels after each exposure. The resulting individual photos can be combined into a single image file with a resolution of up to 200 megapixels using the "Pixel Shift Combiner" software and output loss-free as a raw file in digital negative format (DNG) for further processing. Due to their very high resolution, the images are characterized by impressive tonal reproduction and vivid representation of textures.

The image sensor is shifted with maximum precision to ensure that each pixel records image information in the primary colors red, green and blue. False colors are completely eliminated and the subject is displayed with maximum color fidelity. In this way, even regular 51.4 megapixel images can be created without false colors.
